Privacy notice

Last updated 23 October 2026

This notice explains what personal data Biopikilo collects when you use this website or work with us as a buyer or producer, and how we use it.

Who we are

Biopikilo IKE (“Biopikilo”, “we”), based in Athens, Greece, is responsible for the personal data described in this notice. For any question about it, write to sourcing@biopikilo.com.

What we collect

  • Contact details you give us: name, company, work email, phone number and country.
  • Details about your business: products, volumes, delivery terms and what you write to us.
  • For producers: farm location, crops, certifications, and the results of our farm visits and lab analyses.
  • Technical data: our hosting provider records IP addresses, browser type and the time of each request in server logs, to keep the site secure.

How we use it

  • To answer your enquiry and prepare an offer, at your request (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
  • To agree and carry out contracts with buyers and producers (Article 6(1)(b)).
  • To keep the accounting and tax records Greek law requires (Article 6(1)(c)).
  • To run our business, keep this website secure, and establish or defend legal claims. These are our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)).

We do not make decisions about you by automated means alone.

Who we share it with

  • Providers that host our website and email, under contracts that oblige them to protect it.
  • Laboratories, inspection companies, hauliers and customs brokers, when a shipment needs them.
  • A buyer's auditor, under a confidentiality agreement, when an audit of a lot needs the producer's identity.
  • Our professional advisers, and public authorities when the law requires it.

We do not sell personal data.

Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Some of our providers and buyers are outside the EEA. When we transfer personal data there, we rely on an adequacy decision of the European Commission or on the Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need to answer and follow them up. We keep contract, accounting and tax records for the periods Greek law sets. Server logs are kept only as long as security requires.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your personal data, or for it to be corrected, deleted or restricted. You can object to its use, or ask to receive it in a portable format. Write to sourcing@biopikilo.com. You also have the right to complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr).
